Let us know what you are planning in the East Midlands for NAW 2013
In 2012
Kettering Borough Council - after hours noise
Many complaints received by Kettering BC are of late night noise originating from those who have arrived home after a night out. The tendency for playing music and entertaining people at an acceptable level can be blurred after “having a few”. Kettering BC raised awareness of the effects of alcohol on the individual. They distributed a specially designed beer mat and posters for use in bars and clubs - to encourage people to be noise aware once home and have regard to other residents in their neighbourhood.
Stafford - tackling noise with tea and a chat
The Regulatory Services Group are brewed up plans to advise residents of Stafford and Stone on reducing noise at home. Typical front rooms were recreated in a marquee where the Noise Action Team exhibited a selection of seized noise equipment. With free tea and coffee, residents of the Borough could drop in for a chat and advice on noise related issues. There was a free gig by a local band and giveaways available to supporters of the event, and a “quiet quiz” tested what people “think they know” about noise nuisance.
