Kettering Borough Council - tackle after hours noise
Many complaints received by Kettering BC are of late night noise originating in many cases from those who have arrived home after a night out. The tendency for playing music and entertaining people at an acceptable level can be blurred after “having a few”. Kettering BC are therefore supporting Noise Action Week by raising awareness of the effects of alcohol on the individual - which can have a detrimental effect on our perception of noise and make us less responsible and less sensitive to our surroundings.
Ketering BC distributing a specially designed beer mat and posters for use in bars and clubs. Designed to stand out and create an impact, these aim to encourage people to be noise aware once home and have regard to other residents in their neighbourhood.
Stafford - tackling noise with tea and a chat
The Regulatory Services Group are brewing up plans to advise residents of Stafford and Stone on reducing noise at home:
On 23 and 24 May typical front rooms will be recreated in a marquee where the Noise Action Team will exhibit a selection of seized noise equipment. With free tea and coffee, residents of the Borough to drop in for a chat and advice on noise related issues. There will be a free gig by a local band and giveaways available to supporters of the event. Visitors will be invited to take part in the Noise Action Team’s “quiet quiz”, designed to find out what people “think they know” about noise nuisance.
